About the Take Control of Your Health Program

Take Control of Your Health is a community health awareness initiative of the Midwest Business Group on Health and CBS2 Chicago. Our purpose is to provide important health information and health tips to help people become effective partners with their doctors and to identify and manage health conditions for themselves and their families.

Larry Boress, Editor

President and CEO of Midwest Business Group on Health.
He received a Masters in Public Administration with a focus on Health Administration from Roosevelt University and a Bachelors of Arts degree from Northern Illinois University. Larry also is a Certified Association Executive. He formerly served as Executive Director of the Chicago Business Group on Health. Prior to joining MBGH in 1991, he spent 17 years at the Illinois State Medical Society.

Mr. Boress leads a number of community health improvement initiatives, including those on patient safety, to reduce unnecessary early deliveries, smoking cessation and helping patients avoid adverse events. He is also Executive Director of the National Association of Worksite Health Centers Association of Worksite Health Centers, a trade association for employer sponsors of onsite health, fitness, pharmacy and wellness centers.
